OPEN DOORS is pleased to announce that it is now an official Food Bank Collection Point for the

Liskeard & Looe Food Bank, which provides short term emergency food to local people in crisis.

The Food Bank has been operating in the area for over 2 years and distributed almost 15 tonnes of food.

Working with local front-line agencies such as CAB, Job Centre, Social Services, Children’s Centres,

Homeless Charities, Doctor’s Surgeries, Schools etc.

People are referred using a Voucher system which qualifies them initially for 3 days of food.

The Liskeard & Looe Food Bank has a warehouse in Liskeard and collection points in various

Towns and Villages throughout S.E Cornwall.

Food is donated by local organisations, Churches, Chapels, Schools and private individuals.

It is weighed in at the Liskeard Warehouse and checked for condition and use by date.

It is then weighed out and boxed up ready to be delivered throughout the Liskeard area.

Several families within St. Cleer Parish have already been helped and the

Open Doors Collection Point will hopefully assist many others.
